Mablethorpe Festival Of Running

The third year of road racing events in Mablethorpe
attracted runners from all over the country, where on the day just in
the Midland region Ashbourne Half Marathan, Belvior Castle 10k and of
course the Robin Hood Half and Full Marathan events were taking place.
Starting the morning events off was the 10K, where Mablethorpe had it's
largest entry where there was some strong performances from the Kew
running family, Jackie Love who ran her fastest 10k since Lincoln 07
and pleasing to see former member Keith Lamb taking up the challenge.
Chris Rainsford of the East Midland Club Heanor R C was 1st home in
33m.19s, the athlete who this year finished 59th at the English Cross
Country National Championships, was able to hold off the atention of
Phill Taylor (Bridlington Road Runners who won last year's Half Marathan
74m19s) who clocked 34m12s.At this year's Beverley 5k Phill clocked
16m36s to claim 12th place. Malcom Brine of Lincoln Wellington clocked
38m13s, with fellow veteran Andrew Hartley and 1st home for Louth A
C clocking 39m45s.
Janine Stones (Mablethorpe R C) was 1st lady in 40m25s.

Micheal Duggan was today entered for Mansfield Harriers and clocked
49m15s and was 3rd Male 60 Veteran.
One of the most inspiration performances of the came from Dennis Holt(81)
the Cleethorpes A C president and completed the course in just over
1hr20minutes.
The Half Marathan saw three Mablethorpe runners complete the course
with a new Male Half Marathan Club Record going to Ross Kew in 1hr34m.55s
followed by Mark Collingwood 1hr40m29s and James Gilberthorpe 1hr.44m41s.
The race was won by David Thompson the Barnsley A C runner, in a time
of 1hr14m10s,David has clocked this year on the track at 5000m 15m59.7s.
Following behind was the eagerly awaited Louth A C winning team of Richard
Brown (2nd) Nick Marsh (3rd) who wanted to to do a sub 75minute half
and clocked 1hr14m36s, Nick is in his best form for over ten year's,
with 4th place going to Stuart Cragg in 1hr16m50s, and is starting to
return to form following his 2hr50 London Marathan time this year.
1st lady was City of Hull runner Nicola Moore in 1hr28m31s who at the
London Marathan this year clocked 3hr22m32s.2nd lady was Sue Black of
Birstall in 1hr30m09s, who last year clocked 1hr29m36s, 3rd female was
Long Eaton runner Monica Fee in 1hr32.m32s. 4th place Female was elegant
Kaeti Ann Mackenzie (Barnsley A C) in 1hr33m21s, the Barnsley athlete
has this year clocked 10m45.2s at 300metres.
This was a good turnout from Barnsley A C, with our 2nd claim member
and good friend Mick Casey today running for his 1st club and clocked
1hr32m24s and 1st Male 60 veteran, with his team mate Mark Hurrell clocked
1hr31m52s.
Jo Jackson of Louth A C had a strong run today not far short of her
personal best to finish in 1hr40m48s.
Representing Mablethorpe in the Full Marathan was Jane
Lammiman, who had a courageous run to finish in tough conditions in
6hrs08m24s, a huge well done to her.
David Smithers(unattached) was 1st home in 2hrs41m52s, David finished
Edinburgh this year in 2hrs47m15s. 2nd place from City Of Hull was Stuart
Buchan (who last year clocked 2hrs56m33s) to finish in 2hrs45m57s. 4th
place went one of our regions top road runners Martin Formstone of Cleethorpes
A C in 02hrs50m15s, Martin was 2nd this year in the Sleaford half 1hr15m28s.
Darren Spencer of Sutton On Sea finished highly in 03hrs05m28s, this
follows his sub 3hr marathan at Belfast earlier this year.
Nicola Hunt was 1st female in 3hrs22m24s, this follows her London time
of this year in 3hrs30m55s. Kathryn Scott (Clydesdale Harriers) was
2nd lady in 03hrs25m13s who has clocked at half marathan distance this
year 1hr30m55s.
